Manchester United XI vs Brentford: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Premier League

Manchester United will be without Amad Diallo when they take on Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.

The versatile Ivorian international is a regular at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, but will not be available for Saturday’s lunchtime trip to the Gtech Community Stadium due to a family bereavement.

“Amad is not here,” head coach Amorim told reporters on Friday. “Someone in his family passed away, so we are giving all the support to Amad. We understood that it was important for him to have his time and to return home.”

He added: “We can win without Amad and we want to win also for Amad.”

Amorim further revealed that Noussair Mazraoui will not be available for United until after the October international break due to a knock, meaning he will also miss out against Sunderland next weekend.

Lisandro Martinez continues to make progress in his recovery from a long-term knee injury, but is not yet ready to be considered.

United will also be missing Casemiro in west London after the Brazilian midfielder scored what proved to be the winning goal in last weekend’s chaotic 2-1 win over Chelsea before being sent off for two bookable offences.

However, there was some good news at Carrington this week when full-back Diogo Dalot resumed training following a muscle problem suffered while away on international duty with the Portugal Under-21s earlier this month.

“Licha (Martinez) is out, Casemiro is out because of the red card,” Amorim said.

"(Mazraoui) is not going to be (available) until we stop for the national team, so he's out also. The rest are fit and ready to play."

Amorim will presumably want to keep changes to a minimum after that much-needed win over Chelsea, but if fit enough then Dalot will likely need to come straight in with no Mazraoui.

It will be between Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo to step in for Casemiro in midfield, while Amad’s place in attack should go to summer signing Matheus Cunha, who returned from a hamstring injury off the bench last time out.

Predicted Manchester United XI (3-4-2-1): Bayindir; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko

Injured: Martinez, Mazraoui

Suspended: Casemiro

Unavailable: Amad

Time and date: 12.30pm BST on Saturday September 27, 2025

Venue: Gtech Community Stadium, London
