Amad has revealed his intelligence is as important as his technique when it comes to running with the ball.
The teenager's dribbling has caught the eye in his first six months at Manchester United and he believes that ability to run with the ball and take opponents on is a gift.
United could end paying Atalanta £37million for the diminutive 18-year-old, but he showed his attacking ability for the Under-23s before stepping up to the first-team, scoring against AC Milan and starting two Premier League games towards the end of the season.
It's that skill on the ball that marked him out as one of the most exciting talents in Europe and now Amad has revealed the tricks of his trade.
"I think that it is a gift. I think you dribble using your technique and your intelligence," he told the United website.
“So, for example, if you are faced with two defenders, then perhaps you can’t dribble, or you can only play a one-two, so you have to use your head and your skills to decide what to do initially and then your next move. Therefore, when I have the ball, I think about what I can do, play a one-two, dribble, that is what I think.”
Amad's first United start came against Leicester City towards the end of the season and he also started in the final day victory at Wolves.
He revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told him the day before the game against the Foxes that he was starting but that his fearless attitude helped him prepare for the game.
"To tell you the truth, I am never afraid of playing," he said. "That has always been my strength, never being afraid to play. When they told me the day before the game, that I was going to play against Leicester. Okay, I was a bit nervous initially, but this is football, you can never be afraid.
“So when I went onto the pitch, I could just see 11 players against another 11 players and I think it went well, as you say.”
