Tottenham Hotspur icon Darren Anderton has warned Manchester United about the issues of keeping potential 'bad egg' Paul Pogba at the club.
Pogba, 28, has entered the final year of his current deal at Old Trafford and could leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season if no new terms are agreed.
On Friday his outspoken agent Mino Raiola confirmed talks are planned with United regarding a possible new contract for his client, but he also refused to rule out a possible return to Juventus next year.
Pogba has arguably been United's player of the season so far with seven assists in his first four Premier League appearances but former Spurs midfielder Anderton admits he still has concerns about the Frenchman.
“There have been times where I've been a bit worried," Anderton told My Betting Sites. "How do you get the best out of someone like Paul Pogba?
"He’s now saying he wants to stay and he’s such a top player but also, he can be a bad egg within a football club. If you can get him on the right side, then he's going to be a positive influence and that's where he is now.
The Manchester Evening News revealed at the start of the month United are hopeful of keeping Pogba following the re-signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists his side can convince the Frenchman to commit his future to the club by being successful again.
