Manchester United vs Wolves LIVE!
Manchester United produced a hugely unconvincing opening Premier League display at Old Trafford on Monday night, but still managed to seal all three points to kick off the new season. Erik ten Hag’s team were worryingly flat and well below par throughout the contest, lacking any sort of rhythm, fluency or momentum in attack and opened up countless times on the counter through the middle.
Wolves created several strong opportunities to score as their brave performance in their first game under new boss Gary O’Neil provided a decent riposte to gloomy pre-season predictions of a looming relegation battle, led by the impressive Matheus Cunha up front. However, the Brazilian forward hit the post with Wolves’ best chance of the night as the likes of Pedro Neto, Pablo Sarabia, Hwang-Hee chan and Fabio Silva also failed to find the net either side of Raphael Varane’s match-winning point-blank header in the 76th minute.
Wolves should surely have had a penalty deep into second-half stoppage time when United debutant Andre Onana wiped out substitute Sasa Kalajdzic, but somehow nothing was given after a VAR check. Follow Manchester United vs Wolves reaction live below!
