Tottenham humiliated Manchester United 3-0 on Monday to stay perfect after three rounds and increase the pressure on Pochettino's beleaguered counterpart, Jose Mourinho.
Harry Kane and Lucas Moura struck twice in a three-minute span early in the second half. Moura grabbed a second with six minutes left.
"The only provable way to bring smiles back in football and make problems go away is to win matches."
First up is some essential reading from Chief Football Writer Miguel Delaney who says that Jose Mourinho has created an unnecessary amount of pressure ahead of this evening's match.
Harry Kane has only scored once against Manchester United and only once in August, which was against Fulham last Saturday, what does he have in store for us tonight?
United start the match and Fred gets an early chance, the ball comes over the top to Jesse Lingard who heads it into the path of Fred and his shot flies just past the right hand post
Tottenham have a wobble at the back due to good high pressure from Lukaku and Lingard, but they clear the danger and Kane wins a free kick, albeit one in his own half
Spurs have their best attack so far and they cause a lot of trouble for United's suspect defence, the ball comes in from the right and Dele Alli claims it before laying it off to an arriving Danny Rose whose shot gets blocked
All the action is happening in the middle of the pitch, the game is being played at quite a high tempo without many clear cut chances, both teams look confident getting to the opposing 18-yard box but a final ball is missing as of yet.
Oh what a miss! Danny Rose makes a huge mistake at the back. He tries to pass the ball back to Lloris but it is too soft and Lukaku latches onto the ball, he takes it past the goalkeeper and sends his shot wide of the open goal
Lukaku gets another chance on goal, Lingard flicks the ball over the top of the defence and Luke Shaw runs onto the ball, he brings it into the area and passes it to the United striker whose shot is saved by Lloris
Tottenham get a chance to create something, Matic is caught in possession and Dele Alli runs the ball into the box, he had the options of shooting or squaring it to Kane but Smalling did well with a greatly timed sliding tackle
Oh Phil! Lucas Moura goes on a great run and makes his way into United's area with the ball, beating three players on the way before Jones shoves him off the ball, the ref waves away the penalty appeal and Fred gets a chance at the other end, his curling left footed shot narrowly missing the goal
How have they not scored? United put loads of pressure on the Tottenham defence, first Fred smashes a shot at Lloris that is deflected into the path of Valencia, he flicks it back into the box and it hits Vertonghen before going for a corner
The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event channels. Sky Sports subscribers can also stream the game online via the SkyGo app.
It’s a big game for?
Jose Mourinho: The United manager is currently in his third season with the club, and after recent media speculation around the interest in ex Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, is under pressure to deliver results. The board have recently shut down these speculations and gave the Portuguese manager their full backing after the 3-2 loss to Brighton.
