Manchester United team news: Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford set to return against PSG

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to welcome Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof back into his Manchester United starting line-up for their Champions League visit of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

The pair missed United’s 3-0 victory at Fulham on Saturday after picking up minor injuries last week but both trained on Monday ahead of the last-16 first leg.

Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian were United’s only absentees from the session, though Marcos Rojo is unlikely to play a part on Tuesday after spending two months on the sidelines.

Thomas Tuchel, PSG’s head coach, confirmed that he will be without Edinson Cavani due to a hip injury, while right-back Thomas Meunier is out with concussion.

The Ligue 1 champions will also be unable to call upon the world’s most expensive player Neymar in either leg after he suffered a metatarsal injury last month. Kylian Mbappé will lead the line in attack.

“Would Man United miss [Paul] Pogba or Rashford? Of course,” Tuchel said. ”Neymar is one of our best players and one of the best players in Europe. We will miss him a lot. And now Cavani is out.

“You can’t place all the burden on Mbappé. It’s not his job to replace Cavani and Ney. He has to be free to play his game.

“I want us to provide him with the right kind of support. He needs to play with a good mindset and to be positive.”

PSG will be able to turn to Marco Verratti in midfield. The Italy international has recovered from an ankle injury in time to be available for the first leg at Old Trafford.
