Manchester United vs Newcastle United: Lee Ryder's Premier League prediction

Well we all know the narrative of this one, Ronaldo is back at Man United and don't we all know it.

The Portuguese legend's return to English football has left TV chiefs kicking themselves after they failed to secure the rights for the big game - although Newcastle fans may be grateful for that come teatime as it means rivals won't be able to watch 90 minutes of potential suffering.

Even the great Newcastle teams in Premier League history have struggled here with just one win in total since 1972.

Lee Ryder's prediction

Fair play to anybody backing Newcastle for anything other than a defeat here.

Not for the first time I write these words hoping that I am going to be eating them on the way back home, but in reality Newcastle don't have such long odds for this fixture for nothing.

Steve Bruce's side had a great chance to bank points in the first three matches but sit here at the start of autumn with just one to show for their efforts.

Even if you aren't concerned about Ronaldo, Man United's array of other superstars and the way the occasion is set up suggests it's only going one way.

It's a home win unfortunately, it's whether Newcastle are going to be able to keep things respectable or not.

Referee

Betting

The home win is 2/11 with Bet 365, Newcastle are 14/1 for the win and the draw is 13/2.
