Manchester United vs Man City lineups and team news: Phil Jones, Mason Greenwood start; Anthony Martial on bench

Anthony Martial is only fit enough for a place on the bench for Manchester United in tonight's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Manchester City.

Harry Maguire and Martial had both been doubts in the run-up to the Old Trafford clash, but only Martial returns to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad against Carabao Cup holders City.

That means Phil Jones gets a rare start at centre-back alongside Victor Lindelof, while Marcus Rashford captains United.

There is also space on the bench for Angel Gomes - linked with a January move away from United - and Tahith Chong after the latter impressed against Wolves in the FA Cup.

As for City, Pep Guardiola has named a strong XI with Raheem Sterling up front - but Sergio Aguero has to settle for a place on the bench.

Aguero is among a strong crop of substitutes for City, with Gabriel Jesus, David Silva and Phil Foden available for Guardiola to call on.

Man Utd lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Jones, Lindelof, Williams; Fred, Andreas; James, Lingard, Rashford; Greenwood

Subs: Romero, Dalot, Matic, Chong, Gomes, Mata, Martial

Man City lineup: Bravo, Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy, Rodrigo, Gundogan, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sterling

Subs: Ederson, Jesus, Aguero, Silva, Cancelo, Foden, E Garcia
