Manchester United vs Man City Carabao Cup semi final date and kick off time confirmed

The date and kick-off details for Manchester United and Manchester City's Carabao Cup semi-final have been confirmed.

The match will come after a hectic festive fixture schedule for both clubs and be played on January 6 at Old Trafford, with kick-off at 7:45pm.

Unlike previous seasons, this year's semi-final will be a one-legged affair to help lessen the load on teams during a truncated season.

The tie is a repeat of last year's semi-final in which City were 3-2 aggregate victors over two legs, winning the opening encounter at Old Trafford 3-1 before United edged the return leg at the Etihad 1-0.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side booked their spot in a fourth successive semi-final on Wednesday with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Everton, with late goals from Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial securing the victory.

City's progression was much more comfortable as they eased past a hapless Arsenal 4-1 on Tuesday, with Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte grabbing the goals.

The winner of the match-up will meet either Tottenham or Brentford in the final, which has been rearranged and will now be played on April 25 at Wembley.
