Manchester United vs Everton: Predictions, team news, betting tips, live stream, TV – Premier League preview

Manchester United vs Everton
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Old Trafford
Kick-off: 4pm BST

Jose Mourinho faces another huge test today as his struggling Manchester United side host Everton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are already nine points off the pace as they sit 10th in the League with three defeats in nine games, though they were only denied an impressive win at Chelsea last weekend by a last-minute Ross Barkley goal.

Unfortunately for Mourinho, United followed that up with a limp 1-0 Champions League home defeat to Juventus in midweek to once again raise questions of the manager's suitability for the job.

United have an impressive record against Everton, but with Marco Silva's Toffees sitting above them in the table, Mourinho's side will once again be asked tough questions in front of an Old Trafford crowd who are used to dominating fixtures like these in the past.

Team news

Alexis Sanchez remains absent, although Jesse Lingard is in line to return after a month-long absence. The Chile international missed the midweek defeat to Juventus in the Champions League and manager Jose Mourinho believes he will be sidelined again on Sunday along with Diogo Dalot and Marouane Fellaini.

Lingard could return along with Scott McTominay on Sunday, but Phil Jones looks set to miss another match. Tahith Chong was on the bench on Tuesday for the first time in a competitive match, although captain Antonio Valencia was conspicuous by his absence from the squad against Juventus.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Grant, Valencia, Young, Darmian, Shaw, Rojo, Smalling, Bailly, Lindelof, Pogba, McTominay, Herrera, Mata, Matic, Pereira, Fred, Lingard, Chong, Lukaku, Martial, Rashford.

Everton manager Marco Silva has no new injury or suspension concerns. Silva's reign at Goodison Park got off to a false start due to a number of injury problems to several first-teamers, but the Portuguese reported a clean bill of health on Friday.

Kurt Zouma and Michael Keane are likely to continue their centre-back partnership, meaning former Barcelona defender Yerry Mina will have to wait to make his Everton debut, while midfielder James McCarthy is once again in the squad and could make his first appearance since suffering a horrific double leg break in January.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Zouma, Keane, Mina, Baines, Gueye, Davies, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Gomes, Tosun, Stekelenburg, Kenny, Digne, Holgate, McCarthy, Baningime, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, Niasse, Bernard, Schneiderlin, Richarlison.

TV, online and live stream coverage

Head to head

This will be the 53rd Premier League meeting between the two sides, with United winning the majority (35), Everton just eight games, and the teams sharing nine draws.

United beat Everton twice last season - 4-0 at Old Trafford and 2-0 at Goodison Park - and have scored more goals (98) and won more games against the Toffees than against any other opponent.
