Manchester United vs Chelsea post-match Q&A RECAP as David de Gea mistakes prove costly

United's hopes of reaching the FA Cup final were ended by Chelsea at Wembley, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's under-par side beaten 3-1 by the Blues.

Solskjaer made five changes to the side that had won at Crystal Palace on Thursday night and they were second best throughout against Frank Lampard's side.

But two David de Gea blunders proved costly to United's chances of setting up a final against Arsenal on August 1. The Spaniard failed to keep out Olivier Giroud's near-post effort in first-half stoppage time and then inexplicably let Mason Mount's long-range effort squirm under his body at the start of the second half.

Harry Maguire's own-goal ended the tie with 15 minutes to go but United did manage a consolation when Bruno Fernandes scored the spot.

What do United do after this? Does De Gea need to be dropped? Will a top-four finish still make this a good season? What did you make of Solskjaer's changes? Our senior football writer Tyrone Marshall answered your questions after the game.
