Manchester United vs Cardiff prediction: How will Premier League clash unfold?

Manchester United host Cardiff City on the final day of the Premier League season.

Last week’s draw against Huddersfield means United can no longer claim a top four spot, but they can still overtake Arsenal to claim fifth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have not won in five games, since a narrow 2-1 win against West Ham on April 13.

Neil Warnock’s Cardiff were relegated last week, and are guaranteed to finish in 18th position.

The reverse fixture in December was Solskjaer’s first match in charge, with United running out comfortable 5-1 winners.

Prediction… Man United 2-0 Cardiff

Not much up for grabs for either side here, other than personal pride. United’s quest for a top four spot is now out of reach after an abysmal run of form, and Cardiff were relegated last week following a defeat at home to Crystal Palace.

But there’s no doubting both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Neil Warnock will want to head into the summer on a high. The United boss has said he will blood some youngsters on Sunday, with 17-year-old Mason Greenwood among those in contention.

Warnock has said he is unsure of his future, but after some initial hope with a win at Brighton quickly evaporated with three consecutive defeats, the Bluebirds will undoubtedly give it their all before they head back down to the Championship.

Both sides are lacking confidence, but United should come through this with their superior quality. 2-0 United.
