Manchester United vs. Cardiff City Match Preview, How to Watch EPL Online, Live Stream, TV Channel, Start Time

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will end his first season as Manchester United manager against former club Cardiff City as his 2018-19 campaign draws to a close at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils are on a miserable run of five matches without a win, and Solskjaer needs to beat his old employers if he’s to coax any more faith from the United support ahead of the summer.

Fifth place is the highest United can hope to finish at the end of an ultimately disappointing Premier League campaign, which has lost much of the lustre that came following Solskjaer’s arrival.

Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town was the latest disappointment for a team who looked almost nailed on for fourth or higher in March. Cardiff, meanwhile, would like nothing more than to land one final blow on an English titan before dropping back down to the Championship.

Neil Warnock’s men are already certain to be relegated, and they’re looking to do better than the 2-0 defeat they suffered at Old Trafford in January 2014, their only other trip to the ground.

The Bluebirds have lost their last three games in a row but have won a top-flight game more recently than Sunday’s opponents (a 2-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion on April 16).

Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard are unlikely to feature for Liverpool following injuries, while Alexis Sanchez is also a doubt after he came off injured in the draw against Huddersfield.

Champions League qualification is out of the question for United, but the manager will assess his players in their final challenge of the campaign to see who’s committed to the cause.

United are one point behind Arsenal ahead of the final week of the season and need the Gunners to drop points in their visit to Burnley on Sunday if they’re to have a hope of clinching fifth and guarantee Europa League group stage play next year.
