Manchester United vs Brighton prediction: Rashford the secret to frustrate Seagulls

Manchester United have a few knocks to deal with when they welcome an in-form Brighton & Hove Albion side to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are 7/10 favourites with Betfred but have a dilemma in attack with Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial all doubts.

Defensively, they are sound and are looking to keep their fifth successive clean sheet in the Premier League for the first time since August 2017 - when Jose Mourinho was manager.

Meanwhile, Brighton, priced at 9/2 to bring home three points, are looking to win three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since October 2018.

The Seagulls picked up wins against Newcastle and Southampton before the international break and an injury-hit United side could help them make it three in three - it may look that way too with United being more effective on the road this season too.

Tips

  • Marcus Rashford to score anytime - 2/1
  • Bruno Fernandes to score anytime - 6/5
  • Over 2.5 goals - 10/11

Marcus Rashford?

He may be a doubt but judging by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's comments, it seems he may be available for selection, so long as he got through training yesterday with no complaints.

You just need to look back at the reverse fixture to see what Rashford offers to the team against a side like Brighton.

Graham Potter has got the side playing attractive football and while it looks pretty on the xG table, they lack actual results. Defensively, they seem to be solid but a brave forward with pace and skill has often been their achilles heel.

Rashford scored at the AMEX and is 2/1 to find the net anytime which seems a surprisingly high price.

With the pacey Tariq Lamptey out it will be interesting to see how Joel Veltman will cope with the England international.

Goals, goals, goals

Firstly, this fixture has delivered on goals with at least three goals in the last six meetings so it is surprising to see over 2.5 goals priced at 10/11.
