Manchester United ended pre-season on a low note as they twice gave up the lead in defeat by Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan. The Portuguese had made a rocky start to his career with the Rossoneri and had yet to win, but finally secured the first victory of his tenure as he faced the club which sacked him in January.
Harry Maguire headed United in front with less than two minutes played, but they struggled to build on that advantage and were pegged back by Samuel Chukwueze after Bruno Fernandes saw a spot-kick saved by Lorenzo Torriani. Michael Carrick’s side led again through Patrick Dorgu shortly after half-time, but a late flurry of goals from Goncalo Ramos, Alphadjo Cisse and Ruben Loftus-Cheek killed the tie off.
Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo both made long-awaited comebacks to the pitch as they were introduced with half an hour left to play, but neither was able to inspire a comeback. Ex-Chelsea stars in Amorim 'bomb squad' ahead of Man Utd reunion

Two former Chelsea players feature in Ruben Amorim’s latest ‘bomb squad’ as the ex-Manchester United manager continues to stamp his authority on AC Milan.
The Portuguese took over the reins of the Italian club earlier this summer, having been relieved of his duties at Old Trafford back in January, having criticised the club’s hierarchy publicly in the aftermath of a 1-1 draw with Leeds United.
Now, he has succeeded Massimiliano Allegri at the San Siro, but he has already bookmarked seven names that do not feature in his plans this season.
The Daily Mail report that there are three former Premier League stars in that list, including two formerly of Chelsea.
Those ex-Blues are Fikayo Tomori and Christopher Nkunku, while Pervis Estupinan, the old Brighton left-back, has also been made surplus to requirements.
