Manchester United 'very interested' in Giovani Lo Celso

Manchester United are 'very interested' Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to reports.

After finally securing the signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka over the weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now turn his attention to strengthening United in the middle of the park.

Following the departure of Ander Herrera and the uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba's future, Solskjaer is looking to add some youthful quality to his midfield ranks.

Sporting playmaker Bruno Fernandes and Newcastle's Sean Longstaff appear to be high on the shortlist, however free agent Adrien Rabiot is joining Juventus following his release from PSG.

A potential target, according to Spanish publication Marca, as per Sport Witness, could be Real Betis' Lo Celso.

The 23-year-old, who is currently representing Argentina in the Copa America, impressed while on loan at Betis from PSG last season, with 16 goals in 45 games from midfield.

The La Liga side have since bought Lo Celso for £20million this summer but could be in for an immediate huge profit after attracting attention from a host of clubs.

Tottenham are another side who have been linked and it's reported that Betis are trying to drive the price as high as possible' and they may want as much as '€80million.'

It's claimed that United are 'very interested.'

Elsewhere, United might have been given a 'huge boost' in the chase for Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.

As well as a midfielder United are also debating on adding a new commanding centre-back to the team this summer to amend the leaky defence.

Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire have both been heavily linked but neither as much or as long as Koulibaly has.

Napoli recently signing Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas, meaning United 'could now be in with a chance of signing Koulibaly,' according to the Sun.

However, the signing of Manolas is to replace the departing Raul Albiol, not Koulibaly, and manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to partner the two together to make a formidable defence.

It appears it would still take a massive offer for United to get the Senegal international.
