Manchester United U23s player ratings vs Huddersfield: Teden Mengi and Anthony Elanga shine

Jacob Cairney

A very good save early on to keep United in the game, but struggled with the goals. 6

Ethan Laird

Coped with the physical challenge very well and impressed to nullify Juninho Bacuna's threat. 7

Reece Devine

Started well and thwarted a number of attacks as the game went on. 6

Teden Mengi

Led by example against a strong senior side. Deserves to be in the first-team picture under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. 8

Di'Shon Bernard

Has already made his debut for the first-team and is developing very well. 6

James Garner

Shone against a decent Championship side and is quite clearly ready for a loan at this level. 7

Mark Helm

Great pressure for the goal but found it hard to make his presence known as the game went on. 6

Dylan Levitt

Was excellent on the ball and tenacious when required. Like Garner, he needs a loan, but promising signs. 7

Hannibal Mejbri

Technically brilliant but struggled with the physicality of the match. Took his goal really well but still has a lot of work to do. 6

Ethan Galbraith

Very composed on the ball and dictated the rhythm of United's play. 7

Anthony Elanga

Took his goal well and was a constant threat on the counter-attack. Looks to have put his injury worries behind him.  8

Substitutes

Arnau Puigmal (55' for Helm)

A great assist for United's third goal and overall a promising display. 6

Lukasz Bejger (77' for Devine)

A solid showing from the bench. 6
