Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho given big FIFA 21 upgrade but fans spot issue

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho remains a target for Manchester United in this summer's transfer window, and the England international has today been handed a huge upgrade on FIFA 21 with EA confirming the top 100 highest-rated players.

Sancho was named as the 48th highest-ranked player on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team this year, given the same 87 overall rating as Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Aymeric Laporte, Antoine Griezmann, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Luis Suarez amongst others.

The United target also has a higher overall rating than Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Thiago Alcantara and Jamie Vardy, showcasing just how high Sancho's stock has risen over the last 12 months, and exactly why United are so keen to sign him this summer.

This represents a significant upgrade from his rating in FUT 20, where he was rated at a lowly 84 overall. Here are the two cards side by side, where you can see which attributes have been upgraded in order to boost his overall rating.

Sancho's FUT card has been upgraded heavily, with the young forward's shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physical all being boosted for FUT 21.

But you'll also notice than Sancho has been given a very curious downgrade too, with the winger's pace being reduced from 88 to 83, which is a lot.

This FUT 21 rating suggests that EA believe Sancho is slower overall than players like Ciro Immobile, Kai Havertz and Eden Hazard, which seems very hard to believe.

As you can imagine there has been a lot of reaction to Sancho's FUT 21 pace rating on social media, with many fans amazed at his low pace attribute.

What do make of Sancho's rating on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team? His pace downgrade seems a little hard to believe, particularly as he's one of the fastest wide players in Europe.

EA have confirmed that FIFA 21 has an official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020, but some editions will allow you to play FIFA 21 slightly earlier than this.

If you pre-order the FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition or Champions Edition on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC you’ll be able to play from October 6, 2020, with the Standard Edition allowing fans to play from the game's official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020.
