Manchester United transfer target Amad Traore has been compared to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
As United work to try and tie up a deal for the 18-year-old Atalanta winger on deadline day, while pursuing senior wing options as well, quotes have emerged from Traore's teammate Papu Gomez.
The Atalanta has compared Traore's left-footed wing style in training to that of Messi, creating some major hype around the teenage star.
He said: "He’s a future star, trust me. During our training sessions he plays like Messi!
"You can’t stop him, he’s unbelievable, our centre-backs have serious problems when Traoré is on the pitch ... he’s fantastic!”
MEN Sport reported that United have been working on a move for Traore for around a month though they have encountered issues in arranging a visa. It is understood Traore, who saw a loan to Parma fall through earlier this season, could stay at Atalanta until January. United could then complete the deal in the New Year instead.
Traore became the youngest player, at 17 years and 109 days old, to score on his Serie A debut in Atalanta's 7-1 thrashing of Udinese last season.
He has only played three first team appearances so far, however, and is viewed as a rookie signing by United, along with Uruguayan wide man Facundo Pellistri, who is another player United are working on a deadline day deal for.
United are also expected to unveil the permanent additions of Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani.
