Manchester United transfer news: Paul Pogba told he's 'f***ing s****' by angry fan after Cardiff defeat

Paul Pogba was confronted by an abusive Manchester United fan after the 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff with his future this summer in doubt.

The French midfielder was unable to prevent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side from slumping to an embarrassing defeat to end a disappointing season, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing hitting a double for the visitors.

With no Champions League football next season after finishing sixth, The Independent understands Pogba is desperate to engineer a move to Real Madrid this summer.

And with performances and results dwindling after an initial resurgence under Solskjaer, Pogba has taken some of the heat in recent weeks, with a fan snapping at full-time on Sunday after the season’s climax.

A fan in the video can be heard screaming at Pogba: “You’re f***ing s**** mate, f*** off, get on your bike and f*** off.”

Pogba responds by merely smiling and shrugging, as well as giving the fans a thumb up.

The 26-year-old finished the season as the club’s top scorer with 16 and the top assister with 11.

Solskjaer admitted United face a tough task to reverse their fortunes.

“We have a long and hard way to be where we want to be. It will take some time to close in on the top,” Solskjaer said.

“We finished five or six points behind third, fourth, fifth and that has to be our aim.

“The top two teams have set a standard higher than before and we have to take up the next challenge.

“The work starts now, everyone has the summer off but we have to come back with a different mentality and different attitude of being a Man United team.”
