Man Utd transfer news, rumours, gossip and deals from deadline day

Ed Woodward does not usually like to do business in January unless the right opportunity comes along, but was forced into action when Shandong Luneng made a bid for Belgium international Marouane Fellaini.

The club did not sign anyone during the window but instead secured Anthony Martial to a new five-year deal.

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of Manchester United's deadline day.

Marouane Fellaini could be on his way out today while the Anthony Martial contract saga could finally end.

We'll bring you all the latest news plus all the done deals and the juiciest gossip throughout the day right here so don't touch that dial.

Without further ado, off we go.

Real Madrid remain intent on landing Marcus Rashford and will spend £100million to do so, the Sun reports.

With hours left of the January window the European champions are yet to make a move, although the prospect of a bid before next season remains alive, the paper says.

The £60,000-a-week striker, 21, is reported to be holding off signing a new contract and his current terms expire next summer.

However, he may ultimately choose to stay at Old Trafford - Rashford's mood is said to have improved under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his pay packet could more than treble.

United are said to have secured the services of Anthony Martial until 2024 after the forward agreed an extension, the Daily Mirror reports.

The deal is said to be worth around £175,000-a-week for the France international, 23, and has the option to extend again for another year.

Talks are also expected to take place on extending David De Gea's contract, the paper says.

An extra-year option in the £200,000-a-week goalkeeper's contract has reportedly been triggered, although the club are said to want to keep hold of him.

Marouane Fellaini is one player that could leave Old Trafford on Thursday, who is understood to have agreed a deal with Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng.

Fellaini signed a new two-year contract at United last summer but is not viewed as a first-choice player by caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It is not yet clear how much United expect to receive for the 31-year-old and, as the Chinese Super League window is open until 28 February, the deal may be completed at a later date.

United are willing to listen to offers for Matteo Darmian, who has attracted suitors in his native Italy.

Juventus are among the front-runners for the out-of-favour full-back’s signature but United are yet to receive an acceptable offer from the Serie A champions.

Darmian, signed from Torino for £12.7m in 2015, has played just one Premier League minute since Solskjaer’s appointment.

More on Marouane Fellaini who looks like he's on his way.

His move from Manchester United to Shandong Luneng looks to be edging closer.

Here's the full story on Marouane Fellaini's impending exit.

Matty Willock has signed for Crawley on loan until the end of the season.

He's never played a first team match for Manchester United but has enjoyed spells in the U18's, U19's and U23's.

Recently Manchester United loaned him out to FC Utrecht, St Johnstone and St Mirren, now he moves on to Crawley.

Ashley Young has reportedly decided to sign a one-year extension on his contract to stay at Manchester United despite interest from Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, leaving him open to talks to clubs about a free transfer in the summer.

According to The Mirror, however, the winger/right back has now decided to accept United's offer of a one year extension which is set to raise his current £130,000 a week salary.

There's been interest in Matteo Darmian from Juventus and Inter Milan.

The fullback reportedly wants a move back to Italy but United are waiting for a substantial bid to take him away from Old Trafford.

United have triggered a one-year option on Darmian's contract and want any deal to be a permanent transfer, but are in no rush to sell.

According to Sky Sports News in Italy any move for Darmian is unlikely to happen in this transfer window.

Reports earlier in the week said that Manchester United were keen to bring Steven Bergwijn to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven.

New reports coming in say that this transfer is unlikely to happen until the summer transfer window.

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that goalkeeper Joel Pereira is heading to Belgium on loan.

A potential move to K.V. Kortrijk is expected at some point today.

We'll keep you updated.

A signing for United?

French outlet RMC reports that after 'several days' of talks Manchester United have made an offer for 16-year-old midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

This is RMC's latest update:

'Hannibal Mejbri (16) wants to leave AS Monaco. And according to Monegasque source, it is Manchester United who is leading the clubs interested in the player. United have made an offer to the ASM and have been discussing for several days with Monaco.'

In a report by The Sun, caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'shelved' United's January transfer plans when he arrived as he is happy with the current squad.

Previous manager Jose Mourinho expressed his disappointment at the lack of summer spending, particularly on a central defender, and the board felt the need to back him in this window.

Solskjaer, however, has faith in the current squad and United have reportedly changed their big plans.
