Manchester United transfer news: Kalidou Koulibaly would not 'betray' Napoli by joining Juventus

Kalidou Koulibaly has stoked potential rumours over a move to Manchester United after his agent claimed the centre-back would never “betray” Napoli by joining Serie A rivals Juventus.

The 27-year-old was placed in a shortlist of three candidates United are hoping to pursue in the summer, alongside Milan Skriniar and Joachim Andersen, as the club finally look to reinforce the area that caused Jose Mourinho so much strife.

Koulibaly, who joined Napoli in 2013, has flourished into one of the world’s best centre-backs and still has four years remaining on his contract in southern Italy.

Juventus are also reported to have an interest, but Koulibaly’s agent, Bruno Satin, told Radio Kiss Kiss that he would never join the club’s domestic rivals.

“Koulibaly at Juventus? He’s very close to Napoli, the club and above all to the city,” Satin said.

“I don’t think he would ever betray them to go to Juventus, but let’s not forget that they are professional players.

“If you have the chance to play on important stages, you listen, even if I repeat he is very close to Napoli.”
