Manchester United transfer news: Erik ten Hag rules out PSG move for Marcus Rashford

Erik ten Hag has stressed his desire to keep Marcus Rashford at Manchester United this summer.

It has already been a difficult transfer window for United, who have struggled to get a deal for Frenkie De Jong over the line despite a summer-long pursuit of the Barcelona midfielder.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future has also dominated headlines, with the 37-year-old having asked to leave Old Trafford after only one season back at the club.

Rashford, meanwhile, has recently been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain after a difficult season last time out.

The England international has dropped out of the international set-up after scoring only four Premier League goals last season and is now into the final year of his contract.

Seemingly in somewhat of a rut, PSG are said to have considered Rashford as a target as they search for a striker to act as cover and competition for a frontline already boasting Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford, ten Hag said: “He’s really important, you have seen from the first day I’m here, I’m really happy with him, I don’t want to lose him, he’s definitely in our plans at Manchester United.”
