Manchester United transfer news: David de Gea makes wage demand, Kalidou Koulibaly latest

David de Geawants to renew his commitment to Manchester United and stay at the club for the foreseeable future.

According to the Daily Mail, De Gea is ready to sign a new Old Trafford contract but is waiting to be offered a salary of approximately £300,000-a-week.

United activated a one-year extension clause in De Gea’s contract in November, preventing him from leaving on free transfer this summer.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed claims that Kalidou Koulibalywill leave Napoli due to suffering racist abuse.

Koulibaly is among United’s defensive transfer targets and was singled out for abuse while playing for Napoli against Inter recently.

The incident led some to suggest that the 27-year-old would seek to leave Italy this summer, but Ancelotti has claimed otherwise.

“In England they write that Koulibaly can leave because of the problem of racism. I do not think so,” he said.

“Koulibaly is happy in Naples. He’s upset [abput racist abuse] like others, but it will not be a trigger for a goodbye.”

Elsewhere, the Metro report that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Juan Mata to sign a new United contract and stay with the club.

Mata’s existing deal expires in six months’ time, meaning he is currently free to negotiate a pre-contract arrangement with foreign clubs.

The Spaniard would prefer to stay at United, however, and has reportedly received assurances from Solskjaer that he is part of his plans for next season.
