Manchester United training squad vs FK Partizan revealed

Manchester United youngster Ethan Laird trained with the first team again ahead of their game against Partizan Belgrade but none of the injured players have returned.

United can secure qualification to the knockout stages with a win on Thursday night but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has a number of players out injured.

Victor Lindelof was not part of the group as he is suffering from a back injury and Paul Pogba was absent as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

The France international said over the weekend that he hopes his plaster will come off this week before two weeks of rehabilitation and his eventual return to the first-team fold.

Solskjaer explained after the win against Norwich that he expected the midfielder to be out until the end of November and reports this week have suggested the France international is targeting a return in the Manchester derby on December 7.

Luke Shaw, who hasn't played since the home defeat by Crystal Palace in August, was spotted at the training ground as the players were put through their paces but the 24-year-old was working separately from the main group as he looks to get back to full fitness.

Nemanja Matic, Axel Tuanzebe and Diogo Dalot were also missing from the session. Angel Gomes, who was not part of United's last Europa League travelling squad was not there after picking up a knock playing for the Under-23s a couple of weeks ago.

Long-term absentee Eric Bailly is still injured.

United beat Partizan 1-0 two weeks ago and could again call on another young side for Thursday night's fixture.

Brandon Williams, Laird, Tahith Chong, James Garner and Mason Greenwood were all part of the 22-man squad that trained on Wednesday morning.

Solskjaer should be able to give an update on injuries and team news in his press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
