Manchester United training squad revealed before Partizan Belgrade clash

David de Gea did not train with Manchester United's squad before their flight to Belgrade today (Wednesday), while youngsters Ethan Laird, Brandon Williams and James Garner were all involved.

Jesse Lingard trained with United's players at their Carrington base as he looks to make a return from injury in the Europa League contest with Partizan Belgrade. There was no sign of Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic or Paul Pogba, along with injured defenders Axel Tuanzebe, Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

De Gea made a return from a groin injury to play against Liverpool on Sunday, but looks set to be rested for the midweek fixture. Young keeper Matej Kovar is set to travel.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take his players to Serbia today and hold a pre-match press conference in Belgrade this (Wednesday) evening. The official travelling squad is yet to be confirmed.

United won their opening Europa League tie 1-0 against FC Astana at Old Trafford, before playing out a turgid 0-0 draw away to AZ Alkmaar, meaning Solskjaer's side have yet to concede in Europe this season.

Although Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford have all trained with United and will travel to Belgrade with the squad, all three may be rested with United facing another away trip on Sunday, when they travel to Norwich City.

Right-back Laird could make his senior debut for United if he features in Belgrade. Midfielder Garner is yet to start a first-team game, having impressed for the Under-23s this season, while Williams made his full United debut against AZ Alkmaar.

Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes could continue in Solskjaer's Europa League side.

Goalkeepers: Romero, Grant, Kovar.

Defenders: Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Young, Rojo, Williams, Jones, Laird.

Midfielders: James, McTominay, Pereira, Mata, Lingard, Fred, Chong, Gomes, Garner.

Forwards: Martial, Rashford, Greenwood.
