Manchester United training friendly pits Team Pogba against Team Bruno Fernandes... but who came out on top?

Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba were kept on opposing sides in Manchester United’s latest intra-squad match ahead of the Premier League restart.

The United squad lined up against each other at Carrington on Tuesday after a planned friendly with Championship side Stoke was called off at the last minute.

It was later confirmed the match was cancelled after Potters boss Michael O'Neill tested positive for Covid-19.

Pogba, fit for the season restart against Tottenham on June 19, lined up alongside Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo, Nemanja Matic, Brandon WIlliams, Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood and Harry Maguire, with the United centre-half posting a picture of the group on Instagram Stories alongside the caption ‘winning team’.

The image was also shared by Jesse Lingard.

Fernandes meanwhile made up the numbers playing in United’s away strip with Fred, Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw among those alongside him.

Rashford hitting the ground running?

After recovering from a back injury, Rashford is set to to have a key role in United’s run in and is on course for his best goal scoring season with the club having netted 19 times in all competitions this term.

United had their first intra-squad friendly on Saturday at Old Tafford and replying to a fan on Twitter, Rashford hinted he put his teammates to the sword with a hat-trick that afternoon.

United resume their campaign three points adrift of fourth place Chelsea.
