Manchester United told why Joao Felix could be perfect Antoine Griezmann transfer alternative

Joao Felix has been compared with the talents of Antoine Griezmann amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Benfica attacking midfielder Felix is the subject of intense transfer talk in the summer transfer window after a sensational season for the Portuguese club.

The 19-year-old scored 20 goals and notched 11 assists in his breakthrough season for Benfica, however the club have indicated in the past they will not consider selling Felix for less than his £105m release clause.

However, Atletico Madrid assistant coach Tiago believes United could secure a deal for less and made a comparison between Felix and France international Griezmann.

"He could play in any team in the world," Tiago told El Partidazo de COPE.  "I don't think Benfica will accept selling him for €80 million. He's a player who reminds me a bit of Griezmann."

Last week, Felix told Benfica's official website that he is happy at the club, but refused to explicitly state whether he will remain at the club.

"I think that time will tell. I'm good here, I'm very happy, I love the club," he said.

"I adore these fans who adore me. I want to enjoy the moment, play ball, have fun doing what I like, and then, over time, things happen naturally. I am very happy in Benfica."
