Manchester United told to sign Jadon Sancho to get Harry Kane on board this summer

Former Liverpool man Stan Collymore has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he should sign Jadon Sancho in order to convince Harry Kane to join Manchester United.

Both Englishmen have been linked with moves to Old Trafford this summer, with United considered favourites in the race to sign Sancho, who looks certain to move on from Borussia Dortmund.

Kane, meanwhile, hinted in an interview last week that he would be forced to quit Tottenham if he does not feel his ambitions can be fulfilled in north London.

Standard Sport understands that Spurs have no intention of selling Kane to a domestic rival, despite reports this weekend claiming that Daniel Levy would sanction a £200million deal with United.

With that in mind, Collymore sees a move abroad as more likely, with Real Madrid reportedly interested, unless Solskjaer can produce a trump card.

“I can honestly see Kane going to Real ahead of United in the same way we saw Gareth Bale move to the Bernabeu seven years ago,” Collymore wrote in The Mirror.

“The only hope Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really has of selling Old Trafford as a primary destination for Kane, is if he tells him: ‘We’re not just going to bring you in, Harry, we’re going to bring in Jadon Sancho as well to supply you and maybe a couple of other players on top of him’.

“If Sancho didn’t materialise then I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Kane taking the No.9 shirt from Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, with the Frenchman then heading to the Premier League.”
