Manchester United told they have a forward more valuable than Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is the most valuable player in world football, according to data experts CIES calculation.

The England and United forward has been in sensational form this season, scoring 15 goals across all competitions for his club.

With Anthony Martial misfiring in front of goal, the onus has been on Rashford and Bruno Fernandes to provide United with a regular source of goals.

His performances have now made him the most valuable player in the world, according to the number crunchers CIES.

The data experts combine a list of factors including contract length, the standard of the league they are playing in, their age, international performances and others, as shown below.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe had topped the list but with only 18 months left on his contract with the Ligue 1 club, his value has decreased leaving him in fifth place.

Rashford tops the pile with a value of €165million, whilst his teammates Bruno Fernandes is fourth, with a net worth of €151.1million, just 12 months after his transfer from Sporting CP.

Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, who Manchester United tried to sign from Red Bull Salzburg, is second in the rankings at €152million.

Trent Alexander Arnold is third after establishing himself as one of the world's best right-back at the age of 22, with Mbappe rounding off the top five.

Manchester United target Jadon Sancho is in sixth with a value of €148.3million, whilst Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling sneak into the top 10 too.

With only six months of contract remaining, Lionel Messi just makes the top 100 list in 97th with an estimated value of €54M, whilst, despite his excellent performances, 35-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo (€47M) is only 131st.
