Manchester United told they face huge hurdle in Erling Haaland pursuit and more transfer rumours

Mino Raiola’s relationship with Manchester United means signing Erling Haaland is ‘not going to be easy’, according to reports.

The Borussia Dortmund superstar is being linked with a move to Old Trafford as Ralf Rangnick looks to steal a march on Europe’s top clubs.

The United boss has spoken to Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, about the possibility of his son playing for the club next year, having retained a cordial relationship after overseeing his move to RB Salzburg from Molde in 2018.

United are determined to land a striker ahead of next season, having earmarked Haaland as a priority last season, and with the Norwegian looking almost certain to leave Dortmund in 2022, they could be in the running to bring him to the Premier League.

They could run into a big problem though, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggesting his agent’s relationship with United is going to prove to be a big hurdle.

Romano is quoted as saying “it is not going to be easy” for United to sign Haaland, with Paul Pogba’s situation affecting the relationship between Raiola and the club.

Romano also confirms “many clubs” are interested in Haaland, but there is “nothing advanced at the moment and nothing will be decided right now”.

Meanwhile, United reportedly expect Pogba to stay at Old Trafford during the January transfer window, despite the midfielder reaching the final few months of his contract.

The French international is free to enter pre-contract talks with any club in Europe next month, with his deal at United expiring in the summer.

According to ESPN, the club are willing to consider offers for Pogba in January if the player confirms he has no intention of signing a new deal, but as such no indication has been given, with United expecting him to stay next month.

The same goes for Jesse Lingard, although the winger is expected to leave at the end of the season, while Dean Henderson’s future is up in the air, with discussions set to take place over the possibility of a loan move next month.
