Manchester United told how to solve Alexis Sanchez problem

Alexis Sanchez needs to play regularly if he is going to reach his level according to former Chile striker Ivan Zamorano.

The United attacker has had to settle for a place on the bench at United having failed to impress since joining from Arsenal in January 2018.

There's been plenty of speculation about his long term future, but, with another three years left on his current deal and his huge wages to take in consideration as well as his poor form at United the Chilean may struggle to find a suitable buyer.

Chile great Zamorano believes Sanchez's recent good performances for the national team, he's already scored twice in the Copa America, show he needs more regular game-time to get back to his best.

"What's best for [Sanchez] is to play - wherever he can, be it at Manchester United or any other team," Zamorano told Omnisport.

"The important thing is for him to be constantly competing. I talk from my experience. Sometimes when you're abroad and you're not playing, it is hard to regain the level.

"We've seen it. Alexis hasn't played in Manchester for a long time, but the second he puts on the Chilean shirt, he's different. That's what we like.

"No matter how you are doing at your team, we hope at the moment you put on the Chilean shirt you give your best, and that's what Alexis is doing.

"I'm very happy to see him regaining his level and to see him being a vital part of Chile, being a protagonist in South America again."

Chile have already progressed out of their group in the tournament and will face Colombia in the quarter-final of the competition on Saturday.

Sanchez will likely miss United's return to training on Monday due to his international commitment.
