Manchester United told David Moyes is 'better manager' amid Ole Gunnar Solskjaer job pressure

David Moyes would be in a 'better position' to succeed at Manchester United the second time around if the West Ham manager replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

That's the verdict from former Manchester City and Hammers winger, Trevor Sinclair, who claims Moyes is a much better all-round figurehead these days.

Having been chosen as the man to replace record-breaking Sir Alex Ferguson in time for the 2013/2014 season, the Scot lasted only 10 months during an ill-fated United tenure, before he was handed his P45.

Spells with Real Sociedad in Spain, Sunderland and West Ham followed.

Now back at the London Stadium for a second coming, Moyes guided them to the brink of the Champions League last term and the Hammers, once again, appear set to upset the usual suspects when it comes to mounting another lucrative charge for the top-four.

Pressure on current United manager Solskjaer has, meanwhile, ramped up in the last few days.

Indeed, a humiliating reverse to bitter rivals Liverpool might yet have drastic repercussions for his position at the Old Trafford helm - with former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte seen in some quarters as a potential successor to him.

However, could Moyes be an outside bet to take over the reigns, once again?

Sinclair said: "I don't think he would have made it at Manchester United the first time around.

"I think the job was too big for him, too soon and it was probably the wrong time to take the job.

"I think the disappointment and the experience [improved him].

"There is [more pressure at United], but I think he's in a better position to do the job now after the disappointment and after looking back, analysing where it went wrong.

"Having a bit of an experience abroad, coming back and the job that he's done at West Ham, I think he's a better all-round manager."
