Manchester United to travel 22,648 miles in pre-season - more than double Man City and Arsenal

Manchester United will cover a staggering amount of miles during their pre-season schedule this summer.

Erik ten Hag 's side will not play on home soil prior to travelling out to Bangkok to take on Liverpool on July 12. The squad then travels to Australia to face Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa before lining up against Atletico Madrid in Oslo, Norway on July 30.

United will end pre-season with a friendly against Rayo Vallecano a day later at Old Trafford. It means, in total, they will cover 22,648, as calculated by the Mirror.

In contrast, rivals Manchester City will travel just 9,507 miles as they take on Mexican side Club America and Bayern Munich in the USA. They return to England to face Liverpool in the Community Shield at the King Power Stadium on July 30.

Aston Villa will be the Premier League side that travels the most, edging United’s distance by just over 100 miles. Elsewhere, Leeds trek 21,600 miles and Palace cover 21,194.

Liverpool will record 13,719 miles this summer during their trip to Asia while Arsenal will only tally 9,784 during their schedule.
