Manchester United 'to make world record bid for Harry Maguire' - and more transfer rumours

Manchester United will launch a world record bid for a defender in their attempts to sign Harry Maguire this summer.

Maguire has been linked with United in their search for a new centre-back after two transfer windows where the club have failed to sign any defensive reinforcements.

But Leicester's Maguire will not come cheap, and reports have continued to suggest it will take a world record bid for a defender to prize him away from the King Power Stadium.

And the Daily Star suggest Leicester are braced to receive a huge offer the the England international, which would represent a higher figure than Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk last summer, in the coming weeks.

It is reported that Leicester are looking for a fee of around £90m for Maguire's services.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have made a huge opening bid for Bruno Fernandes, according to reports.

The Portuguese international continues to be linked with a move to United this summer but A Bola  suggest it is Atletico who have made the most serious pursuit of his services.

Fernandes scored or assisted 50 goals in 53 appearances for Sporting last season, and helped his country to becoming the first side to win the Nations League earlier this month.
