Manchester United to improve security after 4 players robbed including one at knifepoint

Manchester United hecking on player security after it emerged forward Tahith Chong was held at knifepoint in a terrifying 3am raid by a masked gang.

Chong, 22, is one of four United players burgled this year.

Three invaders broke into the Dutchman’s home, in Sale, and held knives at his throat.watches and designer gear.

They then demanded Chong, who is on loan at Birmingham, hand over jewellery, watches and designer gear.

After news of the January raid broke at the weekend, he said: “As terrifying as the article may sound, I am doing fine.”

The nanny locked the boys in a room during what Pogba called “our worst nightmare”.

A fifth Manchester player, City full-back Joao Cancelo, was attacked in December as he tried to fend off raiders.

United declined to comment on the Chong raid, but are said to be working with other clubs on ways to combat the crooks.

Stars including Marcus Rashford have bought guard dogs, while others are using special forces veterans for security.

A United source said: “We are working with our players to review and strengthen the security around their homes.”

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick said: “The club will speak to the players about what actions can be taken to increase security.”

Greater Manchester Police were approached for comment.
