Manchester United to hijack FC Barcelona's move for Lautaro Martinez and more transfer rumours

Manchester United will reportedly launch a new bid to hijack Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez's move to Barcelona.

While both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward have warned that the coming transfer window will be unrecognisable to previous editions due to the coronavirus pandemic, United still plan to pursue their top targets this summer.

Though Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham are among the top priorities, a new striker may also be on the agenda especially with the uncertainty surrounding Odion Ighalo's future.

Several quality strikers have already been linked but one that seemed beyond the club's reach was Inter's Martinez, who has been highly touted to move to Barcelona to link up with his fellow Argentina international Lionel Messi.

However, the deal is yet to be set in stone and, according to Foot Mercato, United could swoop in to bring him to Old Trafford instead.

It's claimed that Barca will first have to raise funds for the Argentine by selling at least one player due to their own financial issues, and that United plan to take advantage of their situation by offering a big money contract first.

MEN Sport understands that United are considering Lyon's Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig among their striking targets this summer, but no contact has been made with either as of yet.

Meanwhile, Miralem Pjanic has turned down the chance to join United this summer, according to reports.

Mundo Deportivo suggest the Juventus midfielder has decided he will only play for Barcelona, despite lucrative offers from United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Regardless, despite his talent Pjanic is now 30-years-old and it seems highly unlikely that he would be on United's radar.
