Manchester United will face either Preston or Brighton in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, provided they defeat Luton Town.
United face Luton on Tuesday, September 22, with kick-off coming at 7:45pm.
Due to the condensed nature of the early rounds of this season’s competition, draws are being done one round in advance to give teams and broadcasters time to prepare for potential ties.
Therefore, the draw for the fourth round has taken place prior to the third round ties being played.
United will face either Preston or Brighton in the next round of the competition if they win their third round tie.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been drawn as the away side meaning they will travel to either the Deepdale Stadium or the Amex Stadium looking to book their place in the last eight.
The fourth-round tie will be played in the week commencing Monday, September 28.
The final then takes place on 28 February 2021 at Wembley.
The winners of this season's cup will not qualify for the Europa League as in the past, but will instead go into the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL), a brand new European competition.
