Manchester United 'to be snubbed' by Paris Saint-Germain striker and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have been linked with Edison Cavani but will be 'snubbed' by the Paris Saint-Germain striker, according to the latest transfer gossip.

Reports from Italian news outlet Calciomercato claimed United were 'keen' on the 32-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his PSG contract and is widely expected to move this summer. Yet France Football now claim that Cavani will reject any advances from United because the Reds are not in next season's Champions League.

The same report cites that Cavani could instead by 'tempted' by Atletico Madrid, who could have an opening if Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa depart.

The MEN understands Cavani is not a United target this window, despite the incessant speculation.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid want to hold onto Sergio Ramos amid transfer links to United, it has been claimed.

Spanish media outlet Marca claim that Zinedine Zidane is confident of resolving Ramos' contract situation and extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

United have been touted in some quarters for a transfer for the 33-year-old as they look to bolster their defence.

Finally, in terms of potential outgoings from Old Trafford this summer, United are reportedly willing to take a £6million fee for Marcos Rojo.

According to The Sunday People the Argentine defender will be allowed to leave by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, bringing to an end a five-year spell that has been dominated by injury and inconsistent form. The MEN also understands United are willing to sell him this summer.
