Manchester United 'to battle Tottenham Hotspur' for Youri Tielemans plus other transfer rumours

Manchester United are ready to battle with Tottenham Hotspur and Leicetser City for the signature of Youri Tielemans, according to reports.

The on-loan AS Monaco midfielder has been a revelation since joining the Foxes in January, scoring twice and laying on three assists.

And the Mirror claim £40million could be enough to land Tielemans in the summer, though Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen to extend the Belgian's time at the King Power Stadium.

The player, still only 21, who was linked with United during his time with Anderlecht in 2017, is claimed to be "receptive" to a longer stay with his current loan club.

It comes as United received an apparent knockback in their pursuit of Napol's Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told to sign four players

MEN Sport understands the totemic defender is on United's transfer wishlist for the summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempts to bolster his faltering back line.

But AOL, the Italian news outlet, reports that Koulibaly has a € 150million release clause, which is 'warning off' United and other suitors.

Finally, in terms of players United desperately want to keep at Old Trafford, the Daily Mail is reporting that Marcus Rashford is 'stalling' over new contract talks with the club's hierarchy.

United want to extend Rashford's contract beyond its current summer 2020 expiry date and have reportedly offered the England striker upwards of £200,000-per week.

The report claims Rashford is hesitating as he waits to see how the club's summer rebuild under Solskjaer unfolds.

Talks have been described as 'positive' and United will certainly want a player of Rashford's calibre at the club as they look to add other world class stars to other areas of their squad.
