Manchester United have started their search to hire the club's first ever Head of Women's Football.
The club are looking for an individual who can spearhead their operations both on and off the pitch within the women's game in order to help players and staff compete at an elite level.
United's inaugural Head of Women's Football will also be tasked with playing a key role in ensuring the women's side meet strategic aims and objectives while they will also be responsible for implementing a playing style across all women's teams.
Another key focus point for the new role will be ensuring the women's side have the necessary playing and training environment to compete with the other leading sides in the Women's Super League.
Earlier this year United committed to improving the facilities offered to their female players and declared a 'long-term intention for a fully integrated approach to the training ground with the women’s team, men’s team and academy at one site.'
Casey Stoney resigned as manager of the women's side back in May amid ongoing tensions between herself and the club, with the former manager frustrated by poor training facilities made available to her side with the women's team forced to fit their preparations around the men's schedule as well as those of youth teams.
Marc Skinner was appointed as her replacement back in July when he signed an initial two-year contract and looked to build upon the solid foundations laid by Stoney.
United women currently sit sixth-place in the WSL after eight matches played this season but are already way off the pace of Arsenal and Chelsea at the summit.
