Manchester United 'to announce first summer signing on July 1' and more transfer rumours

Borussia Dortmund want a hefty £170m to consider sanctioning an exit for Erling Haaland this summer.

That is according to AS who claim Dortmund have indicated Haaland is not up for sale, setting their lofty valuation in an attempt to deter any club from making a move for the 20-year-old, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise since playing in the Bundesliga.

The MEN understand Haaland is viewed at United as a dream signing, but any bid for the Norweigan seems highly unlikely, with United now looking at other transfer targets to strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's side with the hope of mounting a title charge next term.

Haaland's contract expires at Dortmund in 2024 but reports claim that there is a release clause in his current deal, which could see the centre-forward readily available for just £65m next year, which is believed to have Europe's most elite clubs on red alert.

In more transfer news, United's signing of Tom Heaton now seems all but official, with Football Insider claiming the deal for the former Reds goalkeeper will be announced on 1 July, but 'sources' have claimed the transfer is done, with the exception of the medical.

Heaton's arrival could suggest that Solskjaer is closer to making a decision on his goalkeeping conundrum between Dean Henderson and David de Gea, as both stoppers have fought for the No.1 role at Old Trafford this season - that can't continue next campaign.

Finally, Belgian journalist Sven Claes has claimed United are interested in signing Leicester's Youri Tielemans this summer. It's thought the Foxes would ask for a bid in the region of £55m for the FA Cup-winning midfielder, though.
