Manchester United have been made overwhelming favourites to sign Leicester City's James Maddison, amid transfer speculation.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2018/19 season for the Foxes after signing for £20million from Norwich 12 months ago and MEN Sport understands United hold an interest in signing him.
Leicester are said to value their No.10 at around £60milllion, but that hasn't stopped bookmakers heavily tipping the England Under-21 star to sign for United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to add to the addition of Daniel James with similar young British players, who have scope to improve and fit into his preferred system. Maddison fits that bill, having scored seven goals and laid on seven assists for Leicester last season, winning a call up to the Under-21 Euros. He's also a dead ball specialist and is viewed by United fans as a potentially exciting signing.
And bookmakers Betway make United odds-on to land Maddison ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham. Maddison is 4/11 to be a United player after the summer transfer window, with other clubs 20/1.
Betway spokesman Alan Alger said: “James Maddison made a real impression in his first season in the Premier League with Leicester and his performances look to have alerted a number of the league’s big guns.
“All of the top-six have been linked with a move for the Englishman, but it’s Manchester United at 4/11 who have shot to the head of affairs and look to be the only side in with a chance of signing him.”
