Manchester United 'the only option' for Jadon Sancho this summer and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are now reportedly the only team in the race for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to enhance his side's attacking talent this summer to build on their exciting potential and hopefully challenge for the Premier League title next season.

A winger is high on his list of priorities with former Manchester City man Sancho the top target. United are long-term admirers of the 20-year-old and another fantastic season, with 20 goals and 20 assists to his name, has only solidified the club's desire to sign him.

It was expected that United would have to battle with some of Europe's biggest clubs to sign Sancho but, according to Sport Bild, they are now the only side that 'can be considered.'

It's reported that as Sancho's contract doesn't expire until 2022, Dortmund are under no pressure to sell and will only do so if United meet their massive valuation of €130million.

As a result, it's claimed, hope is rising at Dortmund that they will be able to keep the England international as United would only spend so much money if they qualify for the Champions League, which is far from guaranteed, and are optimistic that a pay raise could convince him to stay.

M.E.N. Sport understands that Rabbi Matondo of Schalke and Velez Sarsfield's Thaigo Almada are being considered as back-up options if United fail to sign Sancho.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz will only depart for a club playing in the Champions League, according to reports.

BILD claim Chelsea are leading to the race for the German but should they miss out on a place in the competition, he would be open to other options.

M.E.N. Sport understand Havertz is open to a move to United, but Bayern Munich are also linked with a move as well.
