Manchester United teammate reveals impact return of Paul Pogba will have

Manchester United will be like a "different team" once Paul Pogba returns from the injury issues that have plagued him all season, according to one of his teammates.

The World Cup winner has made just six starts this season and he hasn't featured at all since Boxing Day as he battles a troublesome ankle injury.

But Pogba was closing in on a return to action before the season was suspended a month ago and he is continuing to work hard on his fitness despite having to train away from Carrington amid the current lockdown.

When he is back in contention he will begin a midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes that offers plenty of potential, while the break in the season could also allow Marcus Rashford the chance to return for the run-in, presuming the campaign does get back underway.

And January addition Odion Ighalo is excited to see United at full strength, having not played with Pogba or Rashford since his deadline day loan move from Shanghai Shenhua.

When that happens he has tipped United to show a different side to themselves and quickly return to the top of the game.

"He is working hard to get back to fitness and imagine when we have Pogba and Bruno in the midfield, then you will see a different team – [Marcus] Rashford coming back also," Ighalo said in a Twitter interview with journalist Juliet Bawuah.

"Manchester United is going to be great again, winning games week in, week out.

"He's a great player and it's going to be a privilege to play with him."
