Manchester United team vs Tottenham includes Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford

Manchester United's team to face Tottenham Hotspur in tonight's Premier League showdown includes Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford but Paul Pogba is on the bench.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has gone with Scott McTominay and Fred in midfield, in what appears to be a 4-2-3-1 formation.

There is no place in the starting 11 for Pogba, who last started a game for United in September, while Nemanja Matic, Brandon Williams and Odion Ighalo all have to settle for a place on the subs' bench.

Rashford is straight back into the side after recovering from a back injury. He plays alongside Anthony Martial and Daniel James in attack.

Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof complete the back four, ahead of David de Gea in goal.

Before the game, midfielder Scott McTominay spoke about the competition for places in the United midfield, with the Scot favoured instead of Matic and Pogba tonight.

"It's part and parcel of it,” he said.“The manager's job is to pick a team he feels is best and I am sure he will do.

“There are a lot of different scenarios and players he can choose from. Obviously, this is a beautiful decision as a manager as he's got players fighting fit, every single day in training, every single one of the players, from the competition at full-back to midfield to the strikers. So it's important.

“The squad we've got is a big one and everybody does need to be ready."

United team: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire (c), Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Fernandes; James, Rashford, Martial.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Williams, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard Ighalo, Greenwood.
