Manchester United team news vs Tottenham Hotspur: Paul Pogba to return for Spurs trip

Manchester United are set to welcome back Paul Pogba for this weekend's Premier League trip to Tottenham.

The Frenchman missed last weekend's FA Cup win over Reading because of a knock to the back of his right leg but United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the midfielder is ready to return at Wembley on Sunday.

Marcos Rojo has returned to his native Argentina as his injury is taking longer to heal than anticipated, while Chris Smalling (foot) is a doubt and Eric Bailly completes a three-match suspension.

De Gea, Romero, Grant, Dalot, Darmian, Valencia, Shaw, Young, Jones, Lindelof, Smalling, Fred, Gomes, Matic, Pereira, Herrera, McTominay, Pogba, Lingard, Fellaini, Mata, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku, Sanchez.

Solskjaer has joined Sir Matt Busby in starting his United tenure with five successive wins although the consensus is the fixture at third-placed Tottenham will be the first acid test of his reign.

United have been more free-flowing in attack with Solskjaer at the helm and the former striker signalled his intent to continue in the same vein against their next opponents.

Solskjaer said: “You always adapt to any opposition, they are one of best in the leagues so we have to be aware of their strengths. But I've been brought up in a way that we need to attack teams.

“I think that's our strength as well, going forward and attacking, as a team when you look at us now the way we've played.

“We are not going to get as many chances to attack against these as we had before so when we have the ball, we have to be ready to play well with it.

“The last five games haven't been too bad but there is always things to work on; the relationship between players, the cohesion and the understanding. Hopefully we will see a positive team.”
