Manchester United team news: David De Gea to keep place as Sergio Romero ruled out injured

David De Gea will retain his place between the sticks for Manchester United‘s penultimate Premier League match at Huddersfield with Sergio Romero injured.

The Argentinian has a knee injury, ending a discussion as to whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could drop the Spain No 1 after a series of mistakes.

De Gea will therefore look to play through his poor run of form, but defender Eric Bailly will miss Sunday’s trip with a season-ending medial ligament injury in his right knee.

Talented youngster Mason Greenwood is also out, though Solskjaer did not reveal much else ahead of the game.

Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard all missed Wednesday’s part-open training session, though Marcus Rashford and Antonio Valencia were involved.

With United three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and with a significantly weaker goal difference, United must win their final two matches and hope for the Blues and Arsenal to slip up.

Their final match of the season is against Cardiff, who will be relegated if they do not win this weekend against Crystal Palace, or Brighton avoid defeat vs Arsenal.
