Manchester United target Pau Torres talking to friends about summer transfer

Manchester United target Pau Torres has been seeking advice from his friends ahead of a possible summer transfer.

The Villarreal centre-back is currently on United's shortlist ahead of the summer window with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane viewed as the dream defensive addition.

MEN Sport revealed last month both United and Manchester City hold an interest in the Spain international with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to add a new defender to his squad this summer.

It is understood other Premier League clubs are showing an interest in Torres, 24, while he is also admired by figures at both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Any move for Torres is likely to take place late in the summer, with Torres focused on the La Liga season with Villarreal before turning his attentions to the European Championship with Spain.

Torres would be interested in a move to United this summer and MEN Sport also revealed the Spaniard has a release clause in his current deal which lies in the region of €60million after he penned a contract extension until 2024 two years ago.

Now the defender has spoken about his future and revealed he has consulted other players about their own high-profile moves.

“Players who have gone through important clubs, when they talk about an experience they have had, I like to listen to them, both Paco Alcacer and Raul Albiol or Alberto Moreno,” Torres told Sport.

“They tell you things that you have not yet experienced and that you think you would like to experience.”
