Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is willing to let Ivan Rakitic leave this summer amid speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester United, according to reports.
It is claimed that Valverde no longer considers Rakitic, 31, as a crucial member of his first-team squad at the Camp Nou and would sanction the sale of the Croatia international - for the right price.
Spanish outlet Cadena Ser report that Valverde and Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu met last Tuesday and agreed that Rakitic would be allowed to leave the club if an adequate replacement were signed.
Meanwhile, The Sun claim that United will make attempt to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer amid uncertainty over the France international's future.
It is reported that the Reds could even break their transfer record for the forward, who announced last month that he will leave Átletico Madrid this summer.
Barcelona are believed to be close to securing a move for Griezmann, but a deal has still to be announced.
Elsewhere, ESPN report that United have not been put off their pursuit of Leicester's Harry Maguire despite being quoted a fee of £80m by the Foxes.
United are on the hunt for a centre-back and Maguire is said to feature highly on Solskjaer's wishlist.
Jose Mourinho was left dismayed last summer when members of United's hierarchy vetoed his plans to recruit a top-quality centre-half.
But United are believed to be keen to pursue their pursuit of England international Maguire this time round.
